Why am I here?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I’ve wanted to start a blog for a relatively long time, but there’s always been two main things that have stopped me.

  1. Why would anyone care what I have to say?
  2. I want to write, but I have no idea what I want to write about…

I’m not really sure what’s changed, to be honest. I think I just woke up one day and decided that given the fact I write all the time for fun anyway, I might as well share it in the hope that maybe one person might find my ramblings interesting. I also love having a creative project to focus on, and starting this website means I can collate everything I do and share it with people, because why not.

I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember. I’ve got notebooks filled with stories I wrote as a child. (My friends will gleefully remind me at every opportunity that I once wrote a story called “The Eternal Threesome”. This was written in complete innocence; I was only twelve and I thought I was being clever by using a big word. Thankfully, the titles of my stories nowadays are a lot less suggestive). I’m also a little bit odd in that I loved writing essays at school and at uni. Crafting the sentences and paragraphs and finding the best vocabulary to convey my arguments was almost like composing a piece of music to me. And don’t even get me started on proofreading and grammar *squeals*.

I promise I’m not quite as boring as I just made myself sound. At least I hope so. But hey, if you need an essay proofreading, I’m your girl. My fees are wine, cake and a Disney marathon.

I don’t have any idea what this is going to become. I chose the title because I like alliteration, and I probably will write about books and baking (inspired, right?). But I’m hoping this more public announcement of my intention to do more creative things will motivate me to do more artwork and record more songs, maybe. Or this could just die a death after a few months, and I’ll return with my tail between my legs and hope no one remembers. Bets are open now.

In the coming weeks I’m hoping to get my act together and post some things I’ve done already to give this site a bit more substance, but until then, enjoy this witty and engaging post.

TTFN, tata for now.

I'm a 20-something-year-old graduate who needed a creative outlet, and this is the result. I love books, baking, writing, music and drawing in any combination and I want to share these with whoever might be interested. Peruse at your pleasure.
